Echale Ganas
Echale Ganas is a Spanish-language drama exploring immigration, family, and survival through the eyes of a high school senior whose parents face the looming threat of deportation. Set against the realities of hard labor and economic hardship, the film examines the emotional cost of chasing the American Dream while living under constant fear and uncertainty. In editing the project, I focused on slow, observational pacing to immerse audiences in the protagonist’s daily life while building tension through his father’s attempts to avoid I.C.E. and the family’s growing instability. The film ultimately confronts questions of identity, displacement, and the systems that determine who belongs.
